Ikkanbari Basket Bag
A one-of-a-kind basket bag created using Ikkanbari, a traditional Japanese craft.
Layers of Japanese washi paper are carefully applied to a bamboo basket, allowing each layer to dry before adding the next.
The surface is then collaged with antique kimono fabrics and antique and vintage Japanese labels, each carrying little fragments of Japan's past.
Old illustrations, colorful patterns, and nostalgic typography come together to tell a new story.
Every step takes time and patience, making each basket a truly unique piece.

日本の伝統工芸「一閑張り」の技法を用いて制作した、世界にひとつだけのかごバッグ。
竹籠に和紙を一枚一枚丁寧に貼り重ね、乾燥を繰り返しながら仕上げていきます。
その上に、アンティークの着物生地や、昭和レトロなヴィンテージラベル、古い日本のラベルなどをコラージュしました。
昔懐かしいイラスト、色鮮やかな模様、味わい深い文字たち。
かつて日本の日常の中にあった小さな記憶を集め、ひとつの新しい物語に仕立てました。
ひとつひとつの工程に時間と手間をかけて生まれた、二つと同じもののない一点物です。
どんなに古いものも、主役になれる。
