Ikkanbari Basket Bag
A one-of-a-kind basket bag created using Ikkanbari, a traditional Japanese craft.
Layers of Japanese washi paper are carefully applied to a bamboo basket, allowing each layer to dry before adding the next.
The surface is then collaged with antique kimono fabrics and vintage Japanese labels, each carrying little fragments of Japan's past.
Old illustrations, colorful patterns, and nostalgic typography come together to tell a new story.
Every step takes time and patience, making each basket a truly unique piece.

作品に込められたストーリー
一閑張りかごバッグ
日本の伝統工芸「一閑張り」の技法を用いて制作した、一点もののかごバッグ。
竹籠に和紙を一枚ずつ貼り重ね、その都度乾燥させながら土台を作ります。
そこに、アンティークの着物生地や、日本の古いヴィンテージラベルをコラージュしました。
昔懐かしいイラストや色鮮やかな模様、レトロな文字。
かつて日本の日常にあった小さな記憶を、一つのかごに閉じ込めています。
何度も貼り重ね、乾かす工程を繰り返すため、完成までにとても時間がかかる作品です。
どんなに古い布も主役になれる。
