Vintage Showa Tenugui Dolman Blouse – Sports Day

A one-of-a-kind oversized blouse created by combining several vintage Japanese tenugui from the Showa era.
The main fabric features a nostalgic illustration of a Japanese elementary school Sports Day (Undokai), with children running a relay. The “1980” marking on the fabric offers a charming glimpse into everyday school life in Showa-era Japan.
Other vintage tenugui featuring old company names, advertising graphics, and playful illustrations are combined across the back and sleeves, allowing the blouse to tell a different story from every angle.
Designed with relaxed dolman sleeves and an oversized silhouette, it drapes comfortably over the body while allowing the original graphics of each tenugui to remain the focal point.
The contrasting polka-dot collar adds a playful finishing touch to the nostalgic Japanese imagery.
Rather than hiding the age and history of these fabrics, this piece celebrates them—transforming textiles that once belonged to everyday life into something that can be worn and appreciated again.

昭和レトロ ヴィンテージ手ぬぐい ドルマンスリーブブラウス
推定年代：1970年代〜1980年代頃（昭和後期）
昭和時代に使われていたヴィンテージ手ぬぐいを何枚も組み合わせて仕立てた、一点物のドルマンスリーブブラウスです。
正面には「運動会」の文字と、子どもたちがリレーをする姿が描かれた学校の記念手ぬぐいを使用。「1980」の表記も残っており、昭和55年頃の学校生活の一場面を今に伝える、とても味わい深い一枚です。
背面や袖には、昔の企業名や広告、どこか懐かしいイラストなどが残る別々のヴィンテージ手ぬぐいを組み合わせました。前・後ろ・袖、それぞれに異なる昭和の物語が詰まっています。
ゆったりとしたドルマンスリーブとオーバーサイズド感のあるシルエットで、身体のラインを拾いすぎず、リラックスして着ていただけます。
水玉模様の襟をアクセントに加え、昭和の素朴なグラフィックに少し遊び心をプラスしました。
一度は人々の暮らしの中で使われ、本来の役目を終えた布を、再び「主役」へ。
